Week #2 - By Candlelight

By Candlelight

Once in a while, I like to light a candle in my room. I turned my lights off and before blowing the candle out, I was attracted to how the light was projected onto the wall and ceiling.

The pattern of the light and shadows it casted reminded me of a Gobo. I enjoyed how the pattern of light is on the outskirts of a circular shape on the wall and ceiling. A sense of an endless and infinite feeling was portrayed by the intensity of the light in the candle, to the first connection with the wall, and then dispersing further away onto the ceiling. With the soft pattern edges of the candle holder and light dispersing through a large space, it was a moment of de-stressing. The yellow tone and softness put me into a relaxing mood. It inspired me to leave the candle on for a bit longer to "wind down" and become less anxious about the many things on the To Do List. It was a feeling and moment of restfulness.
