Week 6: Bug Zapping Glow stick
This is a close-up photo of an outdoor bug zapper. While not a glamorous vision photographed from far away, I found it to be a very interesting image up-close. The concentrated, saturated light, in a bright and funky shade of purple, reminded me of a disco/night club scene. Because the light is enclosed in a cage-like structure, it makes for an interesting story. Perhaps the glowing light is growing, trying to emerge from its cage. The background of leaves from the tree it's hanging on, provide more textures and colors to the scene. If this image were translated to lighting on stage, I would picture a bright purple special, with sharp panels of light coming from the shins. Added gobos and green lights from the cyc would provide the textured background.
